Nollywood actor and producer Femi Adebayo presented his three AMVCA trophies for "Seven Doors" to his veteran actor father, Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), including the father's blessings.

Celebrated Nollywood actor and producer Femi Adebayo has shared a deeply touching moment with his father, the legendary Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), following his recent triumph at the 11th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA). Adebayo's latest cinematic venture, the series "Seven Doors," emerged as a significant victor at the prestigious event held last Saturday, bagging three coveted awards: Best Lead Actor for Femi himself, Best Lead Actress for the talented Chioma Chukwuka, and Best Score/Music for Tolu Obanro.

On Monday, Femi Adebayo took to his Facebook page to share a heartwarming video that captured the essence of family support and tradition. The footage showed the younger Adebayo humbly squatting before his esteemed father, Alhaji Adebayo Salami, who reverently held the three gleaming AMVCA trophies. In a poignant display of paternal blessing, Oga Bello offered heartfelt prayers for his son's continued success and well-being.

This moving gesture resonated deeply with fans and followers, who flooded the comments section with messages of admiration for Femi Adebayo's humility and profound gratitude towards his family.

In his accompanying caption, Femi eloquently expressed the significance of the moment, stating, "There are moments awards can’t measure, like this one. Humbled beyond words as my father, Alhaji Adebayo Salami, and my dear mothers poured prayers over me today."

He further emphasized the foundational role of his family in his achievements, adding, "Seven Doors may have triumphed at #AMVCA2025, but the true foundation of everything I am… is right here. Their sacrifices, their prayers, their love without them, there is no me. This win is ours."

A Touch of Controversy Amidst the Celebration

Despite the overwhelming outpouring of congratulatory messages, the success of "Seven Doors," which impressively garnered 11 nominations, wasn't entirely free from dissenting voices. A fan on X.com, using the handle #OriretanHonour, offered congratulations but also suggested that Femi Adebayo should "limit featuring" his father in his productions to avoid potentially "ruining" his work. The tweet highlighted the seemingly under-the-radar success of "Seven Doors" compared to heavily promoted projects.

Femi Adebayo, known for his gracious yet firm responses, addressed the comment directly. He appreciated the "love and the concern" but gently countered the suggestion. "Let me gently say, success doesn’t have to wear noise all the time. Seven Doors has won and will keep winning because it is built on solid storytelling, not just hype," he asserted.

Defending his decision to collaborate with his father, a respected figure in the Nigerian film industry, Femi stated, "As for featuring my dad, Dr. Adebayo Salami (PhD), a living legend,. If having a master of the craft in my work ‘ruins’ it for you, maybe the problem isn’t the casting; it’s your understanding of legacy and excellence."

He concluded his response with a touch of faith and confidence, saying, "Oh yeah, let me add, na God dey promote, and when grace speaks, even silence trends. Thanks for the congrats."
