Nigerian youths took to the streets in Abuja to protest the controversial arrest of outspoken social commentator, Very Dark Man (Martin Vincent Otseh).

Fresh outrage has erupted over the arrest of Nigerian activist Very Dark Man (Martin Vincent Otseh), after his brother revealed on Twitter that the incident occurred just after the activist accompanied their mother to GTBank. According to the family, their mother’s National Identification Number (NIN) had been used to obtain loans without her consent, and the activist was at the bank to address the matter. Shortly after, he was arrested by operatives from the EFCC, DSS, and police in what protesters now call a "kidnap-style" operation, carried out without a warrant or formal invitation.

Nigerian youths took to the streets in Abuja to protest the controversial arrest of outspoken social commentator, Very Dark Man (Martin Vincent Otseh).  The demonstration, which began at the EFCC headquarters and moved through GTBank Area 3 to the National Human Rights Commission, was fueled by outrage over what protesters describe as an illegal arrest, carried out without a warrant or prior summons. With placards demanding his release, the protesters are calling out the EFCC, DSS, and GTBank for answers, sparking nationwide debate on civil rights, freedom of speech, and due process.

Protesters wielded handwritten placards reading "Release Very Dark Man", accusing authorities of abducting the activist without a warrant or formal invitation. The arrest, carried out on May 2 in front of GTBank, reportedly involved operatives from the DSS, EFCC, and the police.

The EFCC is now seeking a court order to remand Otseh pending his arraignment. Meanwhile, demonstrators are demanding his immediate release and transparency from both the EFCC and GTBank, though the bank’s role in the matter remains unclear.
