Senator Eze passed away after a brief illness in an Abuja hospital in the early hours of Thursday, April 24, 2024, at the age of 65.

Kenechukwu Ayogu Eze, his eldest son, made the announcement on behalf of the family, expressing their profound sorrow and requesting prayers during this difficult period. The family described Senator Eze as a man of immense warmth and a dedicated patriot whose contributions to the nation and humanity spanned various significant roles.

He held the position of Commissioner for Information & Media and served as a Special Adviser in Enugu State.
