A celebratory evening turned tragic as several fans of singer Seyi Vibez lost their lives in a fatal road accident while leaving his concert at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.

In recent, deeply saddening developments, a group of fans of Nigerian street-pop sensation Seyi Vibez tragically died in a multi-vehicle crash while returning home after his concert at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) on the night of Saturday, August 23, 2025.

Eyewitness footage shared on X revealed that some of those involved had engaged in high-speed racing on the Third Mainland Bridge, with more than four vehicles crashing, resulting in multiple fatalities.

The scene prompted widespread grief and criticism of reckless driving culture in the wake of what should have been a night of music. 

Social media users voiced their heartbreak and frustration:

“They left the show and started racing on the express, trying to overtake other cars. Why race on the highway? May their souls rest in peace. SPEED KILLS.”

Netizens expressed outrage at the recklessness: one user lamented, “You see how they caused other casualties cause of their st00pidity?
