In a significant move to bolster healthcare services and retain medical talent, the Ikoyi-Obalende Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State has approved a substantial salary increase for medical doctors. Effective June 2025, doctors within the LCDA will receive a monthly salary of ₦800,000, marking a 100% increase from the previous ₦400,000. This adjustment represents a 300% total increase since February 2024, when salaries were initially raised from ₦200,000 to ₦400,000.
Chairman Hon. Fuad Atanda-Lawal emphasized that this decision underscores the administration's commitment to quality healthcare and the well-being of its professionals. He stated, "Our administration is not only reconstructing the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Primary Healthcare Centre—we’re rebuilding the very foundation of healthcare delivery in Ikoyi-Obalende."
