Comfort Emmanson, the passenger who was at the center of a controversial incident involving an Ibom Air flight, has finally been released from Kirikiri prison and has broken her silence. Her release came after an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court struck out the five-count charge against her, following a decision by the police prosecution team to withdraw the case.

Emmanson, who had been remanded in prison over allegations of unruly behavior and assaulting a flight crew, took to her Instagram account to thank her supporters. In an emotional post, she expressed gratitude for the prayers, love, and support she received, while also revealing that she is "still in pain due to how I was treated." She stated that she needs time to rest and receive medical treatment before sharing her version of the events that led to her arrest.

The incident, which was captured in viral videos, drew widespread attention and sparked a national debate about selective justice, especially when compared to the handling of a separate case involving a prominent musician.
