In a recent Instagram live session, Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo responded sharply to social media activist VeryDarkMan, branding his claims as manipulative and deceitful and defending her advocacy following the Mohbad tragedy.

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has publicly condemned comments made by social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan. In a video posted on her Instagram account, she dismissed his claims that she reneged on an agreement to publicly apologise to artists Naira Marley and Sam Larry. Iyabo characterised his statements as manipulative and dishonest, calling him cunning and deceitful.

She further explained that she had been invited by the Nigeria Cybercrime Centre (NCCC) and that she did not back out of any arrangement. She emphasized that she had highlighted her concerns as a concerned citizen and mother, especially after viewing videos she described as troubling, such as Sam Larry allegedly harassing Zlatan Ibile and Mohbad, as well as a video of Naira Marley dancing after Mohbad’s death.

In calling him manipulative, she underscored her own deliberateness and wisdom in choosing when to confront issues, contrasting that with QDM’s tendency to speak from both sides of the mouth.

The exchange underscores the high emotions surrounding the public discourse on justice for late singer Mohbad, and the tension between personal grief, social advocacy, and how narratives get shaped online.
